Mr. Emmett ‘Bill' Hendrix, age 80, of Douglasville, GA passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014. He was born March 12, 1934. He worked for over 30 years as an over-the-road truck driver. Mr. Hendrix then spent twelve years as a bus driver for the Douglas County School System being affectionately known as ‘Mr. Bill’. Bill made many friends during the three years he resided at the Benton House Assisted Living facility. His family wishes to thank the staff for all their kindness during his illness.
Mr. Hendrix was preceded in death by his father, Emmett R. Hendrix; his mother, Ruby C. Hendrix; and a sister, Reba Corman.
He is survived by a son, Emmett M. Hendrix; daughters, Rhonda Adbrahmaan and husband Khatib, and Mandy Stone and husband Reed; sisters, Eulene Sinyard, Bernice Daniel and husband Elmo, Sarah Couch, Frances Farmer, and Peggy Franklin and husband Jimmy; grandchildren, Misty, Jessica, Shannon, Chad, Amber, Hannah and Josh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Reverend Larry Argo officiating. Interment will follow at Star of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
