Eugene Curtis

Mr. Eugene Curtis, age 88, of Douglasville, GA passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019. He was born September, 5, 1930 in Acworth, GA. Mr. Curtis loved to work with his hands. If he wasn’t on the tractor, you would find him in his garden or splitting wood. Eugene was a member of Macland Road Church of Christ. He started his working life in a foundry, where he taught himself how to weld. Eventually, he worked his way up to a crane operator and earned the title of machinist.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 68 years, Corene Curtis; his daughter, Renee and grandson Brian; his parents; his brothers, Ralph, Leon, Houston, Ray, and Clarence; and his sister Pauline.

Mr. Curtis is survived by his daughter and her husband, Sandra and John Foran; his grandson and his wife, John Paul and Emma; his sister, Evelyn Reece and multiple nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Macland Road Church of Christ at 11 AM with Pastor Barry Gilreath officiating.
