Faye Mathis

Faye Mathis, age 90, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023. She was born December 23, 1933 in Sandersville, Georgia. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them. She was a member of Westside Worship Center. In her spare time, Faye loved to travel with her friends from church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Mathis; her parents, Hodges Horace Prince and Eunice (Lord) Prince; and a brother, Clyde Prince.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gail Bateman (Chip) and Sue Glaze (Mansell); sons, James “Buddy” Mathis (Teresa), Ricky Mathis and Chad Mathis; brother, Van Prince (Gayle); eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other extended family members.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow in the Rosehaven Chapel at 2:00 PM with Reverend Jerry Favor and Reverend Don Johnson officiating. Following the service, Faye will be laid to rest at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
