Mrs. Geneva Rose Devine, age 89, of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020. She was born June 21, 1931 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Lovingly known as “Nani”, she was family centric—focusing her life on her family and believing strongly in her religion. She loved dogs, especially Cocker Spaniels. She retired from a career as a nursing assistant. In her spare time, she enjoyed bingo and doing crafts.
Mrs. Devine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James “Andy” Howard Devine; her parents, Floyd and Frances (Baines) West; a son, James “Jimmy” Howard Devine, Jr.; daughters, Valla Lynn Phillips, Vicky Ann Devine and Darlene Devine; sons-in-law, Scott Allen and Mike Phillips; and brother-in-law, Bob Ball.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Allen of Powder Springs; sister, Elizabeth Ball of Chattanooga, Tennessee; brothers, Paul (Barbara) West and Pat (Mary) West, all of Chattanooga, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Tracy (David) Vogt of Hiram, Georgia, David (Michele) Allen of Powder Springs, Georgia, Glenn (Irma) Allen of Powder Springs, Georgia, Matthew (Eva) Allen of Cedartown, Georgia, Shannon Mejia of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Sheri (Eric) Rominger of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Sean (Cindy) Phillips of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Justin Devine of Cumming; ten great-grandchildren; and her faithful Jack Russell companion, Wendy.
