He was born in Anniston, Alabama, on October 1, 1947, the son of the late Mr. George Bailey Creel and Mrs. Virginia Smith.
Pete lived a happy and full life. He enjoyed the simple things and loved spending time doing what made him smile. He was an outdoorsman who liked the quiet and excitement of hunting, and he found peace in playing golf. Pete also loved to cook. Whether he was grilling in the backyard or making a meal for his family, his kitchen was always full of good food, laughter, and love.
One of Pete’s favorite places to be was camping by Weiss Lake in Alabama. He enjoyed sitting by the fire, looking at the stars, and being close to nature. He also had a passion for cars. He liked working on engines and fixing up old vehicles, and he enjoyed sharing that hobby with others.
Pete was a big fan of the University of Alabama football team. Saturdays in the fall were for cheering on the Crimson Tide, and he never missed a game.
More than anything, Pete loved his family. Spending time with them was what made him happiest, whether it was a quiet night at home or a big family get-together. He also loved his two furbabies, who were always by his side and brought him so much joy.
Pete will be remembered for the fun times, his kind heart, and the love he gave so freely to everyone around him.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 37 years, Kathy Creel; sons, Scott(Lisa) Creel and Keith (Ginger) Creel; daughter, Susan Huggins and his grandchildren, Tanner, Caitlin, Wyatt, Bailey, and Colin.
The family will receive friends at Whitley Garner Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM- 8:00PM.
Whitley Garner at Rosehaven is honored to be entrusted with the services of Mr. George “Pete” Creel.
