Gerald Keith Hughes, age 67, of Dallas, Georgia passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022. Gerald was born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 8, 1954, the son of the late John Parker Hughes and the late Elizabeth Rebecca Glazier Hughes. Gerald retired from Emory Healthcare as a surgical technician. He was a member of Douglasville Seventh Day Adventist church.
Gerald enjoyed his moped. He loved talking about and looking at mopeds, motorcycles and RVs. He enjoyed camping and the outdoors. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was also preceded in death by his sister, Linda McGahee and his brother, Michael Hughes.
Gerald is survived by his sisters, Laura Clack and Joanna Williams; brother, Norman Hughes; nieces and nephews: Ann Maria Hiatt, Chris McGahee, Kevin (Heather) Clack, Kimlien Campbell, Ann Williams, Alan Williams, Michael Wayne Hughes, Jake Williams; great nieces and nephews: Connor, Winter, Nathaniel, Brianna, and Albert, Jr.; cousins: Alan Gloer and John Parker (Sonya) Hughes; and Gerald's beloved fur baby, Princess.
A visitation for Gerald will be held Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home, 8640 Rose Ave, Douglasville, Georgia 30134, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 AM in Rosehaven Chapel with Pastor Hal Peggau officiating. The service may be viewed live by following the link listed under the services tab of Gerald's obituary page at www.whitleygarner.com.
An Inurnment will follow the service in Rosehaven Cemetery.
