Robert and Family: Gertie and I sang in the church choir at St. Adalbert's in Berea, Ohio in the 1980's. We had so much fun together. I have many happy memories of spending time with Gertie, at church, at your home and in the community. I was studying German at Baldwin-Wallace and she, along with Mrs, Erna Spolny, helped me with conversational German. Gertie and I also both became Social Workers! I consider myself blessed to count Gertie among my friends. Sending warm memories and blessings.

We are saddened to learn of "Gertie's" passing. Our lives crossed as grandparents to three wonderful grandchildren: Max, Isabelle and Jackson. Robert and Gertie were the maternal grandparents and we were on the paternal side.
Gertrud was a very engaged grandmother and quite protective of our "3". We could not have had a better set of fellow grandparents and her loss will be felt. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Robert, Elizabeth and the family. Grandmothers are precious, and Gertie's loving presence will be sorely missed.
