Mrs. Tolbert was born in Douglasville, Georgia on October 5, 1929 the daughter of Howard Glen Watkins and Jewell Bell Daniel. She loved the Lord first and then her family. Mrs. Tolbert had worked for a number of years as a cafeteria attendant at Alexander High School. The color purple was her favorite and she was a remarkable woman with many interests. She was a swimmer, a bowler, she loved bingo and could beat anyone in scrabble, loved taking her family on vacation to the beach and she was the oldest woman to zip line over the largest body of water.
She is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Ronnie and Portia Pittman, Glen and Sandra Pittman, Mark Pittman, daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Bagley, Kathi and Don Pierce, Cindi and Ken Hanson; twenty two grandchildren, fifty one great-grandchildren and twenty eight great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, her husbands, Homer C. Pittman and Paul Tolbert, precede her in death.
The family will receive friends at Whitley Garner at Rosehaven Funeral home on Friday, March 29, 2024 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 in the Rosehaven Chapel and interment will follow in the Christ Abundant Life Ministry Church Cemetery, 7091 Queenferry Drive, Mableton, Georgia 30126. Those serving as pallbearers include Steve Pittman, Greg Bailey, Richie Pittman, Benjamin Pierce, Jacob Pittman, Andrew Hammock and Sean Bagley.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations be made to Christ Life Church, 2508 Macland Road, Dallas, Georgia 30157.
