Mrs. Heidy Maria Jacobs, age 71, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020. She was born March 19, 1948 in St. John’s, Antigua, West Indies. Mrs. Jacobs was a loving wife of 47 years, mother and a grandmother, who treasured her grandchildren. She was a world traveler and an avid swimmer, who loved participating in long distance swimming. She loved reading, gardening, music and keeping up with political and international affairs. Mrs. Jacobs would give you solicited advice, and was known for often offering unsolicited advice. She loved baking as a child, continuing as an adult to enjoy cooking for others, and was most known for her Journey “Johnny” Cakes. Mrs. Jacobs loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and enjoyed evangelizing and working in the prison ministries.
Mrs. Jacobs was preceded in death by her parents, Sydney and Ernie Eileen Camacho.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Wilmoth Jacobs; daughters, Michelle and husband Barrett Greene of St. John’s, Antigua, Faye Jacobs of Douglasville, Georgia, and Laura and husband Joel Barnes of Douglasville, Georgia; sisters, Janet and husband Lestroy Samuel, Brenda Campbell, Sylvia O’Mard; and brothers, Sydney and wife Lilrose Camacho; Morris Camacho, Trevor and wife Julie Joshua, Ian and wife Joan Camacho, Andre Camacho and Paul Camacho; her sisters-in-law, Lorna and Doreen Jacobs; her brother-in-law, Leslie and his wife Barbara Jacobs; and her brother-in-law, Rupert “BaBa” Blaize; three grandchildren, Claire and Ryan Greene, and Joel Barnes, Jr.
The Celebration of Life will be Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Rosehaven Chapel. Interment will follow in Rosehaven Memorial Park. Please feel free to wear bright celebratory colors.
