Helena Mostella Hill

Ms. Hill was bold, proud, and never took no for an answer. She was deeply family-oriented and had a special love for her grandchildren. She was protective of her children, loving, and passionate about living life unapologetically. She spoke her mind freely and authentically, always staying true to herself. She worked in the healthcare industry for 10 years, dedicating herself to helping others.

Ever the doting matriarch, Ms. Hill enjoyed cooking for her family, taking trips and going on vacations. Family events were always something she looked forward to and enjoyed catching up with her loved ones. She enjoyed traveling and going out and about. She was a collector of fine jewelry and spent her free time browsing around stores.

She is preceded in death by her father, Lowell “Dede” Hill; oldest son, Ardell Montee Hill; and niece, LaToya Hill.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Helen Gracie Hill; children: Dejon Elijah Bolton and Naomi Celeste Johnson (Uwem E. Johnson); siblings: Martin Hill, Michael Hill, and Delories Wallace; In-laws: Robert Wallace, Tressie Hill, Cynthia Hill, Kelia Vella, Anita Bolton, Van Bolton, Charles Bolton; grandchildren: Amari Keyanna Hill, Elijah Meki Uwem Johnson, Talan Malik Long, Maliyah Sanae Hill, Jeremiah Lamont Johnson, Dejon Elijah Bolton, Jr., Urias Dupree Hill, Neriah Elizabeth Johnson; nieces: Dannica Robinson, Dominique Wallace, and Rachel Wallace; nephews: DeAndre Hill and Martin Hill, Jr.; and extended family: Cornell & Ardell Briggs (steps sons), Kalani Patton (mother of granddaughters), Andrea Anderson (mother of grandsons), Leander Robinson, Phil Anderson, Karlette and Matt Anderson, Linda and Carl Anderson, Hustin, Justin, Kenin and a host of other cherished relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

In accordance with family wishes, Ms. Hill will be cremated following a Private Family Viewing held at the funeral home on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at El Cajon Mortuary, 684 S. Mollison Ave, El Cajon, CA 92020. A repass will be announced once arrangements are finalized.
