Hillard Elliott

Mr. Hillard Brown Elliott, age 94, of Douglasville, GA passed away Monday, September 24, 2018. He was born on July 5, 1924 in Only, TN. Mr. Elliott enjoyed all music but especially country music. He was a big John Wayne fan. Hillard was also an avid sports enthusiast, liking University of Tennesee football, Falcons football, Georgia Tech football and the Atlanta Braves. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and retired after many years with Georgia Power.

Preceding him death is his first wife, Evelyn Garner Elliott; parents, Robert W. and Katie Belle W. Elliott; five brothers and three sisters.

He survived by wife, Virginia Klutts Elliott; son, Kerry Brown Elliott; daughters Susan Elliott McCoy and Lisa Elliott (Billie) Salter; grandchildren, Aubri Gardner and Emily (Joseph) Barry as well as numerous nephews, nieces and other family members.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 6 until 9 o’clock pm and Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 12 until 2 o’clock pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2 o’clock in the Rosehaven Chapel. Interment will be in Rose Haven Cemetery.
