Mrs. Imogene Cowan, age 95, of Luthersville, Georgia, formerly of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021. She was born in Douglasville, Georgia, on January 18, 1926 to the late Roland and Myrtis (Hill) Meadows. Imogene loved to get out and about– going shopping with her daughters and granddaughter. She was a compassionate and generous person, always making sure that you had what you needed. Imogene loved everyone. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and traveling with her daughter. Before her health decline, Imogene was a hard worker and worked as a secretary for many years. She was Methodist by faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her one and only love, Edward L. Cowan.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherre Long and Teresa Kennington (Dave); her brother, Dewey Meadows (Beverly); and granddaughter, Tyra Morrison (Anna).
Imogene will be laid to rest and reunited with her husband at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia, on Friday, August 6, 2021.
