Mr. James Edward Abercrombie, age 79, of Newnan, GA died Wednesday, May 8, 2019. He was born in Louisville, AL on February 24, 1940. Mr. Abercrombie was born and lived on a farm. At a young age he knew he wanted to do better and move to Georgia. He started at the bottom and worked his way up. In 1973 he opened his own business, A & W Nursery and Garden Center. He retired successfully in 2007. James believed in hard work and honesty. His family was first in everything and everything he did was for his family.

Preceding him death are his parents, Alfred and Cleonia Abercrombie as well as his brother, Charles Abercrombie.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Abercrombie; son Mike (Kim) Abercrombie; grandchildred, Michelle (Hawk) Gunter and Elizabeth Abercrombie, brother Wayne Abercrombie; sisters, Amy (Sam) Wilks, Mary Anne Mulkey and Caryln Kirkland as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 5 until 8 o’clock pm. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2019 in the Rosehaven Chapel at 4 o’clock pm. Interment will follow in the Rose Haven Cemetery.

I was so sorry to hear about James. James was such a good friend to my late husband, Bob Sanders. He was so good to visit with him anytime he was in the hospital or the Nursing home when he was in there. Bob looked forward to his visits. I really appreciated James. Praying for Elizabeth.
