He was a devoted husband who shared more than 62 years of marriage with his beloved wife. Jimmy’s deep love for his family was at the heart of his life, and he will be remembered for the many years of love, companionship, and memories they shared together.
Jimmy retired in 2006 as the Business Manager and International Vice President for the Sheet Metal Workers’ Local #85. He loved serving the union members and frequently shared fond memories with family and friends.
Mr. Marshall was an avid hunter who enjoyed spending time outdoors and appreciating the beauty of nature. He also found great enjoyment in fishing, playing golf, and tending to his garden. Whether he was out in the woods, on the water, on the golf course, or working in his garden, Jimmy appreciated the simple pleasures of life and the time spent doing what he loved.
Mr. Marshall will be lovingly remembered by his wife of more than 62 years, Jane Marshall; children, Kathy (Tony) Bailey, Sharon Langley and her fiancé, Leonard Sepulveda; and Matt (Angela) Marshall; sister, Sandra Lipscomb; grandchildren, Wade Bailey, Kailee Boylen, Brandon Marshall, Shanna Dieckmann and Brooke Tompkins; great grandchildren, Kanon Bailey, Ripken Bailey, Annelee Dieckmann, Beckett Dieckmann, Stevi Boylen, Colton Marshall, Sadie Marshall, and one on the way as well as many nieces and nephews, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Marshall.
His love, faith, and quiet enjoyment of life will remain a lasting part of the memories he leaves behind. He lived a life of faith, family, and the simple joys of the outdoors, and his memory will be cherished forever.
The family will receive friends at Whitley Garner Funeral Home Monday , August 17 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel Tuesday, August 18 at 2:00 pm. Following the chapel service Mr. Marshall will be laid to rest at West Georgia Memorial Park in Carrollton.
