He was a retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Varnie Petitt and his wife, Bernice Marie Petitt.
He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Euton (Jeff), Kathy Griffin (Roger), Sandra Bowens (Mickel), Kellie Manning (John); brothers, Jack Petitt, Jerry Pettit; sisters, Joanne Petitt, Scarlett Soares; grandchildren, Shara, Shane, Chris, Danielle, Drew, Angela, Phillip, John, Joseph; great-grandchildren, Drake, Delaney, Dacia, and Carlee.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 9-11 AM with his service following at 11:00 AM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Rev. Robert Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
