Jessica Michelle Glass-Atkins, age 34, of Villa Rica, Georgia, formerly of Douglasville, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021. A native of Douglas County, she was born September 26, 1986 in Douglasville. Jessica was a 2005 graduate of Alexander High School. She was family oriented, and her children were her heart and the center of her world. Sweet and loving by nature, Jessica’s friends considered her to be a caring and devoted person. Jessica gained a stepfather at 15 and became his “Little Sweet Pea”. She was smart and had a good sense of humor, which probably derived from being gullible. Jessica once believed that brown cows produced chocolate milk and that 2% milk came from the spotted cows. She and her brother, Mark, once talked their Mom into being a year older than she really was. She believed them until her next birthday. Jessica worked as a security officer at Target in Douglasville. In her spare time, she loved cross country, soccer, bass fishing and was an avid Georgia football fan.
Jessica was preceded in death by her father, Mark Anthony Glass.
Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Pamela Gean Hemperley and Carl Michael Hemperley of Villa Rica, Georgia; two daughters, Abigail and Ashlyn of Villa Rica, Georgia; brother, Mark Glass of Villa Rica, Georgia; maternal grandparents, Ed and Mary Dutton; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be planned at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a memorial fund that will be established for Jessica’s daughters. Information on how to donate will be updated shortly.
