Jessica Michelle Glass-Atkins

Jessica Michelle Glass-Atkins, age 34, of Villa Rica, Georgia, formerly of Douglasville, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021. A native of Douglas County, she was born September 26, 1986 in Douglasville. Jessica was a 2005 graduate of Alexander High School. She was family oriented, and her children were her heart and the center of her world. Sweet and loving by nature, Jessica’s friends considered her to be a caring and devoted person. Jessica gained a stepfather at 15 and became his “Little Sweet Pea”. She was smart and had a good sense of humor, which probably derived from being gullible. Jessica once believed that brown cows produced chocolate milk and that 2% milk came from the spotted cows. She and her brother, Mark, once talked their Mom into being a year older than she really was. She believed them until her next birthday. Jessica worked as a security officer at Target in Douglasville. In her spare time, she loved cross country, soccer, bass fishing and was an avid Georgia football fan.

Jessica was preceded in death by her father, Mark Anthony Glass.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Pamela Gean Hemperley and Carl Michael Hemperley of Villa Rica, Georgia; two daughters, Abigail and Ashlyn of Villa Rica, Georgia; brother, Mark Glass of Villa Rica, Georgia; maternal grandparents, Ed and Mary Dutton; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a memorial fund that will be established for Jessica’s daughters. Information on how to donate will be updated shortly.

I knew Jess from a singing app. She and I were both part of the admin team for a group from the singing app. She brought sunshine to he group and always had virtual hugs to greet members of the group. She was supportive if anyone was having a tough day. She expressed such joy at being a mom. Deepest condolences to her family. She was a true treasure of a friend.

jessica was my granddaughter! I was fortunate enough to acquire Mark and Jessica when my son married Pam! And they have been part of my family ever since! I feel lost right now but I have such fond memories of Christmas at my house with my 2 great grands! She was funny, full of laughter, adored her ''babies'' and welcomed me with open arms! Her passing is devastating to us all! To say she will be missed is redundant on my part! She was my granddaughter...... She was loved....My deepest sympathies to Pam,Carl, and especially to Ashlyn and Abby....All my love and devotion to you!

Jessica had such a bright spirit and positive attitude. I remember when she was a part of my Student Group at Dorsett Shoals Baptist, that her loving and caring spirit always brightened the day.
Jessica was such a wonderful young lady and I am saddened to hear of her passing, but also know that she is now in a better place, talking with her daddy.

my thought and prayers are with you during these days.
