

Mrs. Jimmie Lou King, age 86, of Douglasville, GA passed away Friday, May 8, 2015. She was born September 26, 1928 in Atlanta, GA. She loved animals and had retired from Grant Park Zoo. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and garage sales. Mrs. King was a member of St. Julian’s Episcopal Church.
Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McCune; and her parents, James B. and Marie Whitehead Freeman; brothers, J. B. Freeman of Florida, Olin W. Freeman of Jackson, GA, and Arthur Freeman of Ellijay, GA; and a sister, Ola Haines of Temple, GA.
She is survived by a son, Robert G. McCune of Griffin, GA; daughters, Dianne Marie Harris of Douglasville, GA and Pamela Susan Langford of Villa Rica, GA; sister, Mary Helen DiPietro of Sun City, CA; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Sunday, May 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Memorial Park. Immediately following family and friends are invited to gather for light appetizers and fellowship at Ike Owens Community Center in Hunter Park, 8830 Gurley Road in Douglasville.
