

Mr. John Harlin “J.H.” Kidd, age 91, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016. He was born February 21, 1925 in Heard County Georgia, son of the late John H. and Ida Ward Kidd. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Miriam Stallings Kidd and brothers Horace Kidd, Raiford Kidd, and sister Vivian Griffin. Mr. Kidd was a World War II veteran and upon returning home began his career with General Motors where he worked for more than 30 years. He was a member and deacon of the former West End Baptist Church in Atlanta, and is currently a member of the Douglasville First Baptist Church and of the SonRisers Sunday School class. Mr. Kidd was a member of Battle Hill Masonic Lodge 523. He was the definition of a southern gentleman; an avid gardener who prided himself in his fresh tomatoes; and he was a devoted Georgia Bulldog fan who had just purchased tickets for his 49th season. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by daughters Judy Kidd Watkins and her husband Lee of Oxford, Georgia and Vicki Kidd Lambert and her husband Bill of Douglasville, Georgia. He is also survived by one brother, Wilson Kidd and wife Hazel Kidd of Prattville, Alabama; grandchildren Leslie Watkins Shepherd and her husband Chris, Jordan Watkins Winters and her husband Christian, John William Lambert and Anneka Beedles, Paige Diane Lambert and Scott Tidmore, great grandchildren Will and Lauren Shepherd, Merrick and Bryn Winters, and Chase Burton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 5-8 P.M. The Celebration of Life service will be Wednesday, June 29. 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Dr. John Pennington, Rev. Don Butler and Rev. Ikey Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Memorial Park with the grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
