Mr. John Jackson Minter, age 60, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020. Mr. Minter was born January 7, 1960 in Hollywood, Florida. Truly a good friend and a loving person, he made sure to take care of anyone in need, and always helped strangers. He loved spending time with his family and playing the piano for his children and grandchildren. Mr. Minter enjoyed working and staying busy. In his spare time, he enjoyed old cars, cooking, and working in his yard. He loved music and was an avid fan of the Rolling Stones and Dr. Hook. He was a member of The Church at Chapel Hill.
Preceding him in death is his loving wife of 32 years, Janet Love Minter.
John is survived by his children, Cynthia "Cindy" Millsap, Teresa (Jason) Frank, Kathy (Chet Long) Smith, Amber (Dustin Tedder) Minter, John Anthony “Tony” (Brittany) Minter, John Jacob Minter, Sarah Minter, Ryan Joseph Minter, Aaron Minter, Christopher Minter, Makayla Minter, John Holley Crowley and Carla Smith; his mother, Sarah J. Minter and father, Alton Minter; grandchildren, Joshua Frank, Tate Frank, Hannah Arellano, Hayleigh Meister, Samuel Millsap, Jesse Millsap, Michael Millsap, Abigail Millsap, Michael Bryant-Millsap, Daiden Tedder, Anthony Long, Macy Long, Brandon Long, Addison Tedder, Destinee Minter, Zachary Minter, Rylan Minter, Kinsleigh Minter, Akira Minter, Annabelle Smith, Archer Smith, Morgan Smith and Nathan Pate; five great-grandchildren, Averee Frank, Payton Frank, Jayme Eubanks, Ascher Long, and Ryland Long; sister-in-law, Debra Belflower; several nieces and nephews; as well as numerous loved ones, family members and friends.
There will be a private family graveside service at Hillview Cemetery in LaGrange, Georgia.
