Mr. Joseph Porter Larson, Sr., age 89, of Somerset, KY, passed away September 10, 2016. He was born March 31, 1927 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Oscar Paul and Mary Albina Johnson Larson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Irene Reilly Larson; brothers, Paul, John, George, and Howard; and sister Mary Jane. Mr. Larson served in the United States Army and the Merchant Marines. He was Plant Manager of Lear-Siegler in Somerset, KY and then in Morristown, TN. He also owned his own heating and air company.
He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Elizabeth Larson, Jr., Timothy Larson, and Kenrick Larson; daughters, Anna and Stan Redmon and Mary Larson; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-granchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 1:00 PM from the Rosehaven Chapel of Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home with Deacon Ron St. Michel officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs.
