

Joseph (Joe) Mark Podsen passed away unexpectedly on February 19, 2024 at Villa Rica Tanner Hospital surrounded by family and friends. Joe was only 50 years old. His family is deeply saddened by his sudden death.
Joe was born in Atlanta, Georgia on May 3, 1973. He grew up in Alpharetta, Georgia and graduated from Milton High School. He later attended North Georgia College and Gainesville Jr. College. Joe was an intelligent and generous individual who will be missed and remembered by the many lives he touched. He had a quick wit and used his leadership skills to manage a Domino’s pizza franchise. Employees describe Joe as a loyal and caring employer who went beyond the call of duty to help his staff in both business and personal challenges.
He had two passions—football and charter fishing. He rarely missed any UGA football games and loved spending time in Cabo San Lucas with family casting his line on the beautiful blue waters. He also loved his bulldog and mourned her loss.
Joe is survived by his loving partner, Gina Chaffin and her daughters, Karleigh and Leah; granddaughter, Bentleigh; his devoted daughter, Courtney and granddaughters, Susie and Carmin; Forever remembered by his mother, India Podsen and brother, Blake Podsen and wife, Kelley; and his brother Tommy Chase; family members Colin and Gina Podsen, Karin and Wally Lord and other aunts, uncles, cousins and caring friends. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Henry E Podsen Jr.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life service which will be held at 2:00 pm March 9, 2024, with viewing from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Whitley Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home, 8640 Rose Avenue, Douglasville, GA. 30134.
