Mrs. Katie Elizabeth Taylor

Mrs. Katie “Elizabeth” Taylor, age 88, of Douglasville, GA passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014. She was born October 11, 1925 in Jackson County, GA., daughter of the late Jasper Elrod and the late Carrie Elrod. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Atlanta West Pentecostal Church where she faithfully attended for over 20 years. Elizabeth loved to cook, make jelly, and sewing for her children. She enjoyed her time that she shared with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James R. Taylor; son, Marvin F. Taylor; 2, brothers; 1 sister and 2, grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Roger Taylor; daughters, Jean (Jackie) Newborn, Jeannette (David) Clay, Gaynelle Taylor, Theresa (Ken) Ronig, Anne (Richard) Karlsson; brother, Frank Elrod; sister, Ludell Daugherty; 17, grandchildren; 30, great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 5pm until 8pm at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven. Services will be held 3:00pm Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven with Pastor Darrell Johns officiating. She will be laid to rest at Mozley Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are Perry Taylor, David Newborn, Steve Newborn, Kaveh Eden, Jack Newborn, and John Taylor.
