Ms. Kimberly “Kim” Kay, age 41, of Douglasville, GA passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014. She was born August 22, 1973 in Melbourne Beach, FL. Kim graduated from Lithia Springs High School in 1991; attended Georgia Southern; and obtained her real estate license. Kim was the recipient of the LuLu Richardson Celebration of Hope Award for her work in sponsoring and guiding women through Focus on Recovery. She helped countless men and women throughout Douglas County in the CMA community and established a program to work with incarcerated recovering addicts.
She is survived by her parents, Dr. James and Pat Kay; brother, Dr. Michael Kay; sister, Karen A. Kay Sorensen and husband Corey; and numerous other family members.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 8, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The memorial service will be Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Brother Jason Crowe officiating.
