Laura and Doyce were pillars of the Bill Arp community and spent many hours helping construct Bill Arp Park in its early years. A true southern lady with a lot of charm, generous and caring nature, paired with spunk and sass allowed Laura to make friends with just about everyone she met. She spent many years working at O’Neal’s Clothing in Douglasville, GA, helping the men and boys of Douglas County look their absolute best. She was an avid card and dominoes player and was affectionately known by her family as the “Game Warden” sometimes changing the rules to aid her play. She spent her last three years at The Benton House in Douglasville where she thrived in the daily activities and quickly became very close to the staff and residents. She was crowned “Queen of Benton House” at this year’s Valentine Banquet.
