

Layne was born on June 26, 1957 in Pensacola, Florida to the late James Bernadell Jordan and Eunice Effie Baldwin Jordan. He is survived by his wife, Cherrie Few Jordan, to whom he was married to for 44 ½ years. Layne and Cherrie were high school sweethearts and had been together for 50 ½ years. He is survived by two wonderful sons, Alexander Layne Jordan and Aaron Layne Jordan, whom he dearly loved. He is also survived by his brother, Darryl Jordan (Mary Jordan), his sister, Peggylyn Jordan, and his twin brother, Wayne Jordan (Shirley Jordan).
Layne received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. Later he obtained his P.E. license. Layne was a consulting engineer for Patterson & Dewar Engineers in Norcross, Georgia for almost 36 years. He dearly enjoyed working at P&D and he cherished the wonderful friendships he made over the years.
His passion for woodworking and woodturning reflected his love for craftsmanship, always taking the time and care to perfect everything he touched.
The family will receive friends at Whitley Garner Funeral Home on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and thereafter a memorial service will be held beginning at 11:00 AM and will be presided by Pastor Matt Crowe. Whitley Garner at Rosehaven is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements of Mr. Layne Alan Jordan.
