James and family, my family too grew up in East Point. My older brother, Larry, my younger brother, Tommy, and I knew your sister well as we all played some type of ball during all seasons at Sumner Park Rec Center or the great basketball gym at Headland High. Linda was a youngster full of life, fun to see in the halls of daily school life and a joy to play a game of pick up basketball! As it turned out, she was much better at it than most of us who made the boy's teams! We are very sorry for your loss but very proud to know what a great police offer she was as Tommy noted above also served the APD until he retired after 30 years service. We were better kids for having known her! Robert Carter, Class of 65 Headland High

Our deepest condolences to the Clark and Hopkins families. Our hearts grieve for the loss of your dear Linda.

My prayer is that God would ease your pain and comfort you through His Spirit.
“ He has told you, O man, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8

And that, Linda faithfully executed. May you Rest In Peace as Mrs. Koon and Jesus joyfully welcome you.

Sincere sympathy to James and all of the family. I have so many fond memories of Linda as a classmate and friend. She was always joyful, positive, and so much fun. I admired her in many ways but especially for setting her goal to join the police force and then making that happen in a time when it was not at all a common profession for a female. Loving thoughts and prayers to all, Becky

Mom, I miss you so much. You taught me to be a strong, brave woman. You raised me to follow rules, to be honest, use my gut instinct, respect police officers and to know right from wrong. You have always been there for me, no matter what I said or didn't say. You were a good mom and I will cherish our memories and time together, always. Rest in peace, Angel. You have your wings, now fly to heaven and be in no more pain. I'll see you again one day.

All my love,
Angela

Linda was my cousin and although we haven't seen each other for a while, I will always remember her as a vibrant, strong woman with a caring heart. My brother Bob is unable to post his message at this time, so I am including his condolences and love to James, Denise, and Angela. During their high school years, Linda and Bob were simpatico, so alike, rebels and fast friends. Family dinners with lots of Aunt Jean's pasta were the best times, and Linda was always there with a smile for everyone. Linda was brave and loving and will be missed by her family, friends, and colleagues. Rest in peace, Linda.
