

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maria Concepción Reyes de Chavez, who departed this world on October 4, 2023, to join her heavenly parents, Petra Naranjo Martinez and Luis Reyes. Born on August 15, 1944, in Rancho El Pueblito, Mexico, Maria’s life was a testament to love, devotion, and boundless kindness.
Maria’s journey began in Los Reyes Michoacán, and on June 8, 1963, she embraced a lifelong commitment as the cherished wife of Cecilio Chavez Manzo. Together, they were blessed with seven children: Maria Guadalupe (Carlos) Hernandez, Sandra (Juan) Alonso, Maria de Lourdes Chavez, Yessenia Chavez (Phabio Pasos), Cecilio Jr., Jorge, and Eduardo Chavez. Her legacy continues through her 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, a testament to the love and warmth she shared with her family.
In 1980, Maria and her family embarked on a new chapter, emigrating to the United States, where she continued to nurture her family with unwavering love. Maria’s kindness knew no bounds, and her heart was open to everyone she met. She leaves behind not only her beloved husband but also her sisters Esperanza, Lilia, Alicia, and Claudia, and brothers Salvador, Jose, and Luis, all of whom cherish the beautiful memories of their time together.
Maria Concepción Reyes de Chavez will be remembered for her boundless love, her caring nature, and the joy she brought to the lives of all who knew her. As we mourn her passing, let us celebrate the legacy of love and compassion she leaves behind. May her soul find eternal peace, reunited with her parents in the embrace of heaven.
