Mark Sims

Mark was a family man to his core. He was devoted to his wife and children and loved them more than anything in the world. Mark and his wife, Samantha, were together for 15 years and friends for much longer. They were the definition of soul mates.

He was encouraging of his children’s athletic endeavors and always cheered them on and supported them. He loved to dance around his house with his children while blaring music, making beautiful memories. A testament to his devotion to his family, he worked hard to ensure his family had nice things. Because of that they were able to take many vacations and go on adventures together. He took immense pride in his family, and his three babies brought him so much joy and made his life full.

Mark enjoyed keeping himself in shape, working out and training hard to get where he was. He did have a sweet tooth though and always had some candy nearby. His favorite place to be was on the lake, going out on the boat and enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. His loss is felt deeply by everyone who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charlie Hull Sims, Jr., paternal grandfather, Charlie Hull Sims, Sr. or “Bigs”; and maternal grandparents, James and Patricia McLendon.

He is survived by his loving wife, Samantha Sims; his babies, Charlie Belle, Owen Beckett, and Piper Grace Sims; mother, Elizabeth “Betsy” Rivero and her husband, Orlando; grandmother or “Nana” as he lovingly called her, Nancy Sims; brother, Jamie Sims and his wife, Alanna; sister, Lauren Guthrie and her husband, Jonathan; brothers-in-law, London Owens and his wife, Eve, and Parker Owens and his wife, Maria; in-laws, Jackie and Tammy Owens; cousin, Taylor Shutt and her husband, Ben; nieces and nephews, Eleanor, Lincoln, Scarlett, Clarke, and Sawyer; and so many other close family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Whitley Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home. There will be a chapel funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 2:00 pm. In accordance with his wishes, Mark will be cremated following the services.
