Mary Tatum Hose, age 79, of Hiram, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022. She was born in Cumming, Georgia on April 22, 1942, the daughter of the late Homer James Tatum and the late Ruby Dean Henderson Forbes. She was a homemaker and a member of Chapel Hill Road Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia.
Mary loved her family intensely. She and her husband, Harold, loved to travel and took many cruises together. She stayed close by his side for 45 years and the two never spent a night apart until her recent illness. She was a strong Christian lady who loved God to the uttermost. She loved to offer spiritual counsel and guidance and prayer. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her grandson, David Todd Powell, Jr.; her brother, James “Jimmy” Tatum; and her step father, Harold Forbes.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Harold Hose; her children and their spouses: Heather (Von) Webb, Troy (Alyshia) Powell, and David (Sonya Banda) Powell; grandchildren: Brodie Mitchell, Tiffany Powell, Amber Byrd, Cameron Stahl, Justin Powell and Yvonne Denezzo; great grandchildren: Jace and Ezra; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow the service in the funeral home’s Legacy Room.
