Mary Louise Mitchell

Ms. Mary Louise Mitchell, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully entered into eternal rest on November 16, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on December 4, 1935, a life marked by resilience, grace, and unwavering love for her family.

Mary Louise was a woman of quiet strength and deep faith. She devoted her life to nurturing her family, supporting her loved ones, and extending kindness to everyone she met. Her wisdom, generosity, and warm spirit touched countless lives, and her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved children, Kevin Bernard Jordan and Selena Mitchell, as well as her niece, Sharilyn Terry.

She leaves to cherish her memory her former husband, William Mitchell; her children, Carla Saulsberry, Cedric Mitchell, and Phillip D. Mitchell; her stepdaughter, Sylvia Hardeman; her grandchildren, Kellyreese (TJ) Jordan, Isis Byrd, Alexander Byrd (nephew by marriage), Chenelo Anietkwu, and Cedric Mitchell IV; her great-grandchildren, Javon Byrd and Alexandria Byrd; her sister, Julia Terry; her brother-in-law, Elder Henry Terry and her nieces, Teresa Hightower and Beverly Keaton.

Mary Louise’s life was a testament to perseverance, love, and faith. She will be remembered for her warm smile, wise counsel, and the many ways she shaped the lives of those around her. Though she has departed from this earthly home, her spirit lives on through her family and the enduring memories she leaves behind.

Her family celebrates her life with gratitude and finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Whitley Garner Funeral Home Tuesday, November 25 at 12:00 pm with Rev. Cedric Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Cemetery.
