Jean was born on June 30, 1940, in Marietta, Georgia, to the late Mr. Luther Turner and Lucile Crowder Turner. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was marked by love, dedication, and a deep appreciation for family and the simple joys of life.
Jean gave 39 years of faithful service to Cobb EMC, where her hard work and commitment enabled her to advance into the accounting department. She was admired for her strong work ethic, loyalty, and determination.
She found great happiness in shopping, gardening, singing, traveling, playing dominoes, spending time with her grandchildren, and caring for animals. Her love for music was evident; she was a talented musician and played the piano, organ, clarinet, saxophone, and ukulele. Jean was also a devoted Georgia Bulldogs fan and rarely missed a chance to cheer them on. Her love for her family, her pets, and the people around her was evident in all she did.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ashley Fisher; her nephew, Roland Turner Jr.; her beloved cat, Bud; and her dog, Bambi.
Jean leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 64 years, James E. Lawson; her daughters, Stacey (Arnaldo) Echevarria and Heather Lawson; her grandson, Chad (Presley) Lawson; and her cherished fur baby, Henley, along with many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Rosehaven Cemetery in Douglasville, Georgia.
Jean will be remembered for her warm heart, her love of family, and the joy she brought to those who knew her. Her memory will be treasured always.
