Mr. Ham was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp., serving his country during the Vietnam Conflict. He earned a Masters Degree in Scientific Engineering from Georgia Tech, and worked for Lockheed-Martin for many years. He was an avid cyclist and supported the Wounded Warrior Project with ‘The Honor Ride’ where he raised over $8,000.00. Mr. Ham was an active NRA member; was an excellent marksman who enjoyed his guns and reloading ammunition; and was an active Republican. He attended the Church on the Word.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Hollis Ham and Margaret Wadear Eubanks Ham; brother, Leroy Ham; and baby daughter, Rebecca Ann.
He is survived by his wife, Piper Ham; daughters, Tabitha Ham Schillinger (Brad), Courtney Whitney (Eli); son, Ben Ham (Olivia); grandchildren, Nathan Schillinger, Rebecca Schillinger, Adam Schillinger, Noah Ham, Brayden Whitney, Taylor Whitney, Anna Whitney, Madeline Ham; sister-in-law, Debbie Ham; nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 5-8 PM. The funeral service will be Friday, June 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Pastor John Alexander and Pastor John Rayburn officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
