Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Dowda, age 80, of Douglasville, GA passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016. She was born September 18, 1935 in Cobb County, GA. She was a homemaker who was lovingly known as “Big Momma” by her family and friends. She was a member of Kingdom Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Allen Dowda in 2013; her son, Michael Allen Dowda; her parents, Alexander and Myrtice Gann Davis; sisters, Margaret, Mable, Ruby and Daicy; brothers, Bud, Teet and Johnny.
She is survived by son, Larry Dowda; two daughters, Patricia Dowda and Dianne Wagoner; sister, Jane Werner; nine grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 11, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
