

Patricia Hathaway Kennedy, age 81, of Winston, Georgia, formerly of Wilson, North Carolina, passed away on August 17, 2020.
She was born to the late Johnnie Gregory Hathaway and the late Magdalene Roberson Hathaway on June 14, 1939 in Nash County, North Carolina. She was the oldest of three children and was raised in Wilson, North Carolina.
Mrs. Kennedy worked as a certified nursing assistant for 10 years at Britthaven Nursing Home. She was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her children and caring for her family. She was a good natured individual and got along with everyone. She was family oriented and would share stories about her loved ones at all opportunities. Mrs. Kennedy also enjoyed dancing, traveling and lived throughout the United States including North Carolina, Texas, Hawaii and ultimately Georgia.
Mrs. Kennedy is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie Gregory Hathaway and Magdalene Roberson Hathaway; husband of 20+ years, Clinton B. Kennedy; daughter, Jackie Ann Sipe; and brother, Jimmy Ray Hathaway.
Survivors include son, Jimmie Sipe and his wife, Dianne, of Florida; daughter, Teresa Ann Rhodes and her husband, Vance, of Georgia; stepdaughter, Ann Kennedy of North Carolina; granddaughter, Ashland Rhodes of Georgia; grandson, Wayne Rhodes of Georgia; brother, Charlie Thomas “CT” Hathaway of North Carolina; nieces, Susan Cruse and her husband, Travis, and Lisa Johnson and her husband, Stephen, both of North Carolina; and great niece, Alyssa Johnson of North Carolina.
Services are currently pending and will be updated shortly.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 21, 2020 at 6:00 PM in the chapel of Shingleton Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Blackburn officiating. The visitation will immediately follow the service. Interment will be Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Bailey Town Cemetery.
