Phyllis Schiwal

Mrs. Phyllis Dale Schiwal, age 71, of Douglasville, GA passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019. She was born to the late Harvey and Luberta Harrington on November 2, 1947 in Greeley, CO. Phyllis was an avid crafter with exceptional creativity. Her hands were never idle! From teaching classes on fiber arts to birthing, she spent her lifetime as an educator. As a member of the Douglasville First United Methodist Church, she devoted her time to numerous ministry projects. She loved her family and friends dearly, but the title she treasured most was ‘Grammie.’

Mrs. Schiwal is survived by her husband of 49 years, James; her daughters, Nicole Schiwal, Aimeé Schiwal (Matthew Pinto), and Sara Schiwal (Michael Hendley); her siblings, Harvey Harrington (Kris) and Ann Christianson (Robert); her grandchildren, Esmé Pinto, Nora Hendley, and Noelle Hendley; and numerous other family and friends from South Dakota, West Virginia, and Georgia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 8, 2019 from 10 AM to 11 AM. A service will follow at 11 AM in the Rosehaven Chapel.
