Robert H. Anderson

Robert Anderson, age 88, of Douglasville, GA passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014. He was born January 7, 1926 in Nashville, TN. Mr. Anderson retired with 43 years of service from Sears and Roebuck, where he was over the Southeastern Catalog Center. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, gardening and was an avid reader. He enjoyed sports, especially football and he was an avid UGA Bulldog fan. Bob had been a member of the Douglasville First United Methodist Church since 1970, where he was active in the Brotherhood Class and the Jack Leg Angels.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley L. Anderson; his parents, Robert H. and Louise F. Anderson; and a sister, Edna Louise Buice.

Robert is survived by two sons, Robert E. Anderson and wife Sheila, and Brian S. Anderson; a daughter, Laurie A. Roberts and husband Joseph; grandchildren, Sarah Anderson, Emily Holsey and husband Deon, Jeffrey Anderson and wife Lacy, Steven Roberts, Michael Roberts; great-grandchild, D.J. Holsey; several nieces and nephews; and several cousins with whom he was very close.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Douglasville First United Methodist Church with Dr. Scott Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
