Robert Arthur Farley

Mr. Robert Arthur Farley of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at the age of 95. He was born on November 18, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the only child born to the late Francis and Lucille Farley. Mr. Farley served his country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII here in the United States as well as the South Pacific. He continued in the Army Reserves after his return from the war and retired as an LTC. He did all of this while working for General Telephone Company where he retired after 42 years of service. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved and knew him.

He is predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth M. Farley and his son, James A. Farley.

Survivors include his daughters, Nancy F. Smith, Kathleen F. Lane, and Roberta A. Gilley; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

There are to be no scheduled services for Mr. Farley.

I was so sorry to hear about Bob. He was a great artist and a wonderful friend to all of us in the art group at Woody Fite. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family. Rest in peace, Bob.

This is so hard to hear. Bob was such a wonderful man . He was involved with our art classes at the Woodie Fite Center and we all enjoyed his humor and conversation. Always had a hug and a kiss for me. He will be missed. My condolences to his family.

We are so sorry to hear of Mr. Farley’s passing. Jim was in the art class with him at the center and Bob also lived in the same facility as Debbie’s mother. We will miss him and seeing his beautiful artwork. Our prayers for comfort are with the family.
