Ronald Lee Riggs age 58, of Douglasville, passed away on October 25, 2025. He dedicated more than 35 years of service to Douglas County, working as a Master Mechanic in the Vehicle Maintenance Department, where his expertise and work ethic earned the admiration of his colleagues.
A true craftsman, he was also a master gunsmith, known for his precision and attention to detail. Proud of his affiliations, he was a devoted Freemason and Shriner, finding purpose in brotherhood and service to others. To all who knew him, he was affectionately known as a “gentle giant” and a man of quiet strength, kindness, and integrity whose presence left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Ronald is survived by his mother, Elaine Stone; step-father, John Stone; sister, Denise Newby. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Riggs.
The family will receive friends at Whitley Garner Funeral Home Saturday, November 1 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Services will begin in the Funeral Home chapel at 3:00 pm with Marcus Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Memorial Park.
