Russell Wayne Medina-Davis

He will be remembered for the many ways he brought joy, laughter, and kindness into the lives of those around him. For 18 years, he proudly worked as a bartender and server at Gumbeaux’s in Douglasville, where he became a familiar and beloved face to coworkers, friends, and customers alike.

Russell had a genuine love for basketball and enjoyed playing pool. He also had a creative side and found joy in writing poetry. When he wasn’t working or enjoying his favorite hobbies, he cherished spending time with his friends and family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

He was a devoted sports fan who enjoyed watching the Atlanta Falcons and cheering on the Atlanta Braves. He also loved playing Halo online, sharing countless hours of fun and laughter with others.

Those who knew Russell will especially remember his kind heart, sense of humor, and the way he truly listened when someone needed to talk. He had a gift for making people feel heard, valued, and comfortable simply by being himself.

His laughter, kindness, friendship, and the memories he created with the people he loved will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Russell is survived by his parents, Linda Edwards and Engel Medina; siblings, Christopher (Naomi) Wong, Krystle (Sean) Lassetter, Rachel Medina-Davis; Sarah Medina and Samantha Medina; nieces and nephews, Joslynn, Isaiah, Kyleigh, Carina, Easton, Ryley and Jaxon as well as his Dalmation, Charlie. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Florencio Medina.

The family will receive friends at Whitley Garner Funeral Home Sunday, September 13 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. In accordance with his wishes, following the viewing, Russell’s body will be cremated.
