

Ruth Finken, age 95, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025. She was born in Ashland, Ohio, on July 16, 1929, the daughter of the late Mr. Harold Dessenberg and Mrs. Esther Jamison Dessenberg.
Ruth treasured time spent with her family, always putting them first and creating lasting bonds through her warmth and generosity. A passionate cook, she delighted in preparing meals that brought her loved ones together, often sharing her culinary skills with anyone fortunate enough to gather at her table. Ruth’s love for life extended beyond her kitchen, as she found great joy in reading and playing solitaire, always with a kind and patient spirit.
A devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves, Ruth could often be found cheering on her team with enthusiasm, a reflection of her unwavering loyalty and zest for life. She was also a faithful Christian, attending Heritage Baptist Church whenever she was able, where her kindness and faith left an impression on all who knew her. Ruth's memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her, and her legacy of love, faith, and devotion will continue to inspire all who remember her.
Ruth enjoyed working in accounting for many years, once retired she volunteered as a pink lady for WellStar Douglasville Hospital. She was also a devoted member of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 23 Years, Mr. Wayne Finken; brothers, Harry, Kenny, Paul, Carl, Richard, and L. Wayne Dessenberg; and her sister, Glenna Curl.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving sons, David (Elizabeth) Finken and Jeffrey (Dorothy) Finken; grandchildren, Vickie, Benjamin, Jacob, Jessica, Sarah, and Benjamin, and ten great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from the Whitley Garner at Rosehaven Chapel at 3:00 PM
Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February, 5, 2025 at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
