Sarah Jurelle Wester Smith of Rockmart, Georgia, passed away peacefully September 20st, 2026 after a short battle with Cancer. Her life was filled with love, family, faith, and cherished memories. She was born on September 15, 1942, in Rockmart, Georgia.
Jurelle was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, Julius T. Smith Jr., who passed away in 2017; her mother, Pearl Rose Wester Rampley; her father, James Marshall Wester; and her son, Billy Charles Huggins Jr.
Jurelle dedicated many years of service as a buyer for AAFES, the Department of Defense at Fort McPherson, and Gilliam. She was known for her strong work ethic, kind heart, and love for her family. In her free time, she enjoyed refinishing furniture, shopping on QVC, and traveling with her husband to their timeshares, creating many treasured memories together.
Above all else, Jurelle loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her beloved dogs, Sidney and Ruby. Later in life, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and found great comfort and peace in His love.
She is survived by her daughters, Marlene Simmons (Stefan) and Judy Swanson; her stepchildren, Julius T. Smith III (Carrie), Ken Smith (Raeliene), and Michelle Warburton (Paul).
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Melissa Wehler (Dave), Cami Johnston, Christopher Spears, Ivy Adams (George), Bailey Denney (Wes), Tyler Swanson, Hunter Smith (Emily), Sarah Redmon (Jeff), and Julius “LJ” T. Smith IV.
Her legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren: Courtney Christopolis, Savannah Christopolis, Wyatt Wehler, Jessie Wehler, Eleanor Denney, and Reese Redmon.
Jurelle will be remembered for her love of family, her generous spirit, her unwavering strength, and the joy she brought to those who knew her. Her memory will forever be treasured by her family and friends.
