She was one of six children born to the late Merle R. Johnson and the late Frances M. McCoy Johnson.
Mrs. Kodger was truly one of a kind: she had a joyful spirit, never met a stranger and was able to see value in the little things. She had attended King’s Way Baptist Church and had a close relationship with the Lord, her favorite verse was Psalms 23. She used to share with others that “Jesus is the sweetest name” she knew.
Mrs. Kodger loved being uplifting to others. She spoke to everyone in sight and offered genuine compliments; she would also gift them one of her infamous cards of love that offered a free hug along with an inspirational scripture sharing God’s love. Her faith and love for others never waivered even when faced with opposition. She was a kind person and was a testimony in how to treat others.
Mrs. Kodger enjoyed little moments of glitz and glamour. She loved anything that sparkled and shined and had an extensive costume jewelry collection.
