Born in Jasper, Alabama, on September 1, 1946, Virginia moved with her family to Jackson, Tennessee, at the age of eight. She later made her way to Atlanta, where she met and married Lonnie Pittman. They shared 32 years of marriage and enjoyed traveling together in their camper, including a memorable trip to Dollywood.
Virginia worked as a secretary at Gillman Wall Covering. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved keeping multiple bird feeders filled for the birds she cherished, tending to the flowers in her yard, especially her treasured rose bushes, and reading romantic mysteries. A devoted Alabama fan, Virginia proudly followed her team. She visited Graceland several times and was a big fan of Elvis Presley. She also enjoyed making Friday night dinners at the Blue Agave Restaurant a weekly tradition.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Pittman, and her parents, Elmer Wall and Gladys Opal Wilson Wall.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer Pittman and Robyn Pittman; Gene (Tammy) Allbert Jr, Dee Dee (JC) Moore; grandchildren, Amber Pittman, Dillon Allbert, Rachel Allbert, Morgan Moore, Mary Elizabeth Moore (Tristen) Fuller, Tatum Fuller and Tyler Fuller; and her great grandchildren.
Virginia will be remembered for her love of family, her appreciation for the simple joys of life, and the many memories she created with those she loved.
