Walton Baxter, Jr. age 80, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026. He was born in Jackson, Mississippi on April 25, 1946, to the late Walton Baxter, Sr. and Mary Louise (Reeves) Baxter.
Walton was an incredibly loving and generous man. He would give you the shirt off his back and ask if you needed the shoes, too. A good Christian man, Walton served as an ordained Deacon and Sunday school teacher to a boys youth group. In his spare time, he loved to go fishing.
He in addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Scott Baxter; and 4 of his siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Cynthia Baxter; son, Walton “Walt” Baxter, III; and 4 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the Rosehaven chapel at 11:00 am with pastors Charles Gibbs and Richard Carver officiating. He will be laid to rest at Rosehaven Cemetery.
