Roger was born in Douglasville, Georgia on August 12, 1943, the son of the late James Curtis Moody and the late Gladys Tatum Moody. Roger had a great love for the outdoors. He spent countless hours in his garden and he loved growing corn, watermelons, tomatoes and okra. Roger enjoyed the time he was able to ride his bicycle and after his retirement, he was able to ride over twenty-five thousand miles. He had worked as a sheet metal fabricator for RF Knox working with specialty metals. Roger was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His greatest passion and love was spreading the LOVE of Jesus Christ. He was a member of Kings Way Baptist Church for over eighteen years where he served as a deacon as well as working with the visitation program. Roger also assisted Dr. F. Dowdey in teaching The Grace Class for adults. and also the Larry Burkett Class.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Pilgrim Moody, son and daughter-in-law Scott and Melissa Moody, daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Dennis Brown, grandchildren, Kayli, Kristen, Luke, Peyton, sister-in-law, Arlene Moody and many nieces.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Aaron Moody and Jerry Moody.
The family will receive friends at Whitley Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Joseph Hayman officiating and Rev. Moses Florence will serve as the Eulogist. Interment will follow in the Rosehaven Cemetery with Pastor Joseph Hayman.
