

Born May 4, 1926 in Brockport, PA, he was the son of the late John and Maria (Roggero) Carlini.
Mr. Carlini was a member of St. Michael the Arch Angel Roman Catholic Church, DuBois. He was a WW II Veteran as a Cpl in the US Army having been a combat veteran and a member of the 2nd Army 99th Division serving under General Patton from January 1, 1944 to July 1, 1946.
Derio was employed with DuBois Area School District as a custodian for 18 years retiring in 1986. He was an accomplished musician and music teacher having played the accordion. Mr. Carlini was a member of the Hi-Lo’s Musical Combo group and the Horton Township Sportsman Club. He enjoyed fishing both freshwater and saltwater, music, his pets and most especially spending time with his immediate and extended family.
Surviving are Two sons: John Derio Carlini and his wife Susan, DuBois; David J. Carlini, Bradenton, FL; Three Grandchildren: Isa Marie Carlini, David J. Carlini, Jr. and Sarah E. Pedersen; also Four Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a brother: Michael Carlini and two sisters: Alma Rose and Theresa Tamburlin.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Derio G. Carlini will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the Mohney Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc., 142 W. Long Ave., DuBois, PA 15801 with Rev. Fr. Matias Quinmo as celebrant. A time to share memories and have an opportunity to view will be Wednesday from 11:00 – 1:00 PM the time of service at the funeral home. Full military honors will be accorded by the DuBois Honor Guard following the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
