

Born September 27, 1932 in Portland, Maine, he was the son of the late Frank Roy and Elizabeth (Strattard) Poole.
Mr. Poole was a Veteran of the US Navy retiring after 22 years of service as an EM 1st Class. He was employed as a machinist for the former McDowell tool and die. Edward was a graduate of St Petersburg High School in Florida. He then attended both William & Mary and Wake Forest Universities. Edward’s memberships include American Legion Post 17 and VFW Post 813 where he was Past Commander of both; Fleet Reserve Branch 320, the Olympic Club and Sandy Twp. Hose Company No. 1. He was a volunteer for 18 years as a Driver for the Clearfield County VA. He enjoyed playing golf and working through crossword puzzles.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters: Kimberly Hilliard and her husband Keith, NC; Katherine Watson and her husband Bob, NC; Two step children: Frederick Powers and his wife Tina, DuBois; Christine Schory, Mechanicsburg, PA; six grandchildren: Kelly and Mark Stewart, Alex and Beth Hilliard and Anna and Emily Watson; 4 step grandchildren: Justin and Dalton Powers and Cody and Kyle Schory; also 1 step great granddaughter: Evonna J. Powers. two Brother-in laws: Bob Joyce and wife Joyce, Cleveland, OH; Paul Joyce, DuBois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother: Harold Poole.
A service to celebrate the life of Edward L. Poole will be at 11:00 AM Monday, December 9, 2013 at Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc., 142 W. Long Ave., DuBois, PA 15801 with Chaplain Francis Romeo officiating. A time to share memories with the family will be from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Monday the time of service at the funeral home.
