

He was born on August 6, 1926 in DuBois, the son of the late Elvie and Mary (Wank) Hoover.
Hudge was a graduate of Sandy High School in 1944 and went on to serve in the United States Navy in the South Pacific on LST #126. He was employed by Fairman Drilling Company as a tool pusher for many years.
He was a member of the VWF and a life time member of Sandy Hose and Independent Political Social Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing at his camp in Potter County.
Hudge is survived by his loving wife Janice “Jan” (Smith) Hoover, of Falls Creek, six children: Ricky and his wife Sherry Hoover of DuBois, Douglas and his significant other Annette Hoover of DuBois, Michael and his wife Karen Hoover of Falls Creek, Pamela and Bill (Lefever) Hoover of DuBois, Lance and his wife Kim Hoover-Pifer of DuBois and Toni Lynn and her husband Charles McKibben of TX; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Hoover of TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons: Gary L. Hoover and James Hoover; four brothers: Allan Hoover, Herbert Hoover, John Hoover, Edward Hoover and a sister, Alice Smiley.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 from 6:00pm-9:00pm at Mohney Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc. An additional hour will be held on Thursday from 10:00am until the hour of service.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 31, at the funeral home, with Rev. Lance Tucker officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
