Helen Helen Dolores Heberling Shaffer

Born in DuBois on December 1, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Vida (Zimmerman) Heberling. Helen graduated from Sandy Twp. High school in 1945. She was last employed with Cameron Manufacturing.

Helen enjoyed shopping, cooking, baking and watching her grandson's soccer games.

Surviving are five daughters: Connie Farrell of DuBois, Diane Smith and her husband, James of DuBois, Lois Bickel of Grampian, Sharon Muth and her husband, Rodger of Luthersburg, and Betty Rohrbach and her husband, Tim of Ohio; 10 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie Castina and her husband, Bill of Brockport.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Shaffer whom she married on June 4, 1965 and died December 1, 1986; a great grandson, Shawn Dahrough-Smith and a brother, Richard Heberling.

Funeral services will be at Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 11:00am with Pastor Thomas Krishart officiating.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, August 7, 2011 from 2 to 4:00pm and 6 to 9:00pm. An additional viewing will be held Monday from 10:00am until the hour of service. Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park.
