
She was born on March 20, 1923 in Lancaster, PA, daughter of the late H. Leslie and Mary (Strine) Blake. On June 1, 1945 she married William G. Williams, who passed away on April 29, 2013.
Kathryn was a 1940 graduate of J. P. McCaskey High School, a 1944 graduate of University of Pennsylvania with a B.S in Education, a 1969 graduate of Shippensburg State College with a Elementary Education certification and a 1973 graduate of Shippensburg State College with an M.S. in Library Science.
She taught many levels and places but her true passions were first grade and children’s literature. In 1973 she became the first Director of Ralpho Township Public Library.
She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church where she was an elder and active in Bereans, the Pennsylvania State Education Association and the Pennsylvania Library Association.
She and her husband, William, spent a year as Vista Volunteers for the Literacy program in DuBois. They also enjoyed volunteering at DRMC.
Her hobbies included: sewing, knitting, cross stitch, swimming, golf, hiking, reading, storytelling and bridge. She loved water toning class, book and bridge clubs.
Kathryn is survived by a son and daughter; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters.
There will be no public viewing. Services will be private.
